Las Posadas
Las Posadas, a ceremonial celebration of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem, has been co-sponsored by the FCAC and the Committee for the Restoration of the Mission San Jose since 1982. Previously we have met each evening on the porch of the Mission Museum and then walked in procession to the host destination; however in the recent past so many people have gone directly to the host destinations in order to avoid standing in the cold that on some nights, we may meet directly at the destination. All gatherings start at 6:00PM.
- Thursday, December 15 - Meet on the porch of the Mission Museum and proceed to Mission Coffee, 151 Washington Blvd., where Soprano Kristen del Rio will sing a Christmas mix and more
- Friday, December 16 - meet at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, 43430 Mission Blvd, #100 - Clarinet trio Silver Winds will play classic Christmas hymns
- Saturday, December 17 - meet at Edward Jones, 43433 Mission Blvd., Suite 102 - Connie Chew, soprano, singing classic and traditional music
- Sunday, December 18 - meet at Dominican Sisters Convent, behind the Old Mission - Madrigal Singers, with classic and traditional songs of the season
- Monday, December 19 - meet at The Cheese Taster, 43367 Mission Blvd. - Sharon de Sousa will sing classical and contemporary music of Christmas past, present and future
- Tuesday, December 20 - meet at Olive Hyde Art Gallery, 123 Washington Blvd. - Billy Smith and Knuti Van Hoven will perform country and contemporary holiday classics
- Wednesday, December 21 - meet at Holy Family Convent, 159 Washington Blvd. - the First United Methodist Church Ensemble will perform religious Christmas music and contemporary classics
- Thursday, December 22 - meet at Von Till & Associates, 152 Anza Street - The Anza Street Troubadours and guitarist Richard Kendrick will entertain with a traditional Christmas
- Friday, December 23 - Museum of Local History, 190 Anza Street - The Center Stage Singers will perform Christmas favorites
