11th Annual Juried Photography Exhibit - 2004
This year the caliber of the work submitted has been quite impressive...196 photographs were submitted by 54 photographers. 108 works by 43 photographers were selected by the judges for this year's show. A reception and show opening was held Friday, October 29th in the Fukaya Room of the Fremont Main Library at 2400 Stevenson. The selected photographs were on display in the library main floor reading area through November 28th.
Photos are judged on Artistic Merit, Originality, Difficulty and Technical Aspects. This year's judges were:
- Alison Brooks, A professional photographer and owner of a professional dark room call the Negative Space in Hayward. Alison has been teaching and judging photography for many years. She is a board member and past president for Northern California Camera Club, and was the speaker for the FCAC sponsored photo seminar offered free to the public earlier this year.
- Kenna Mawk, amateur photographer for over 12 years. Kenna believes the photograph represents an art form and is the personal expression of the individual. She has been judging photographic competitions for many years.
- Tara Gill, an award-winning freelance photographer with 11 years experience. She owns and operates Fisheye Photography in Fremont, a business that offers portraiture, wedding and fine art photography.

- 1st Place " Peacock Dancer" by Simon Chen - as an FCAC board member, Mr. Chen has generously waived his prize money
- 2nd Place " Three Roses" by Hiroko Muramatsu (a member of Fremont Photographic Society) -- Prize:$80
- 3rd Place " Black Necked Stilt" by Jared Willson -- Prize: $50
10 Merit Awards (in sequence of submission number) -- Prize: $30 each
- "Fern" by Simon Chen - as an FCAC board member, Mr. Chen has waived his award money
